The Association
of Coaching and Training (ACT) Philosophy of Coaching
The Association of Coaching & Training adheres to a form of
coaching that honors the client being more knowledgeable his/her
personal and/or professional life than the coach and believes that
every client is creative, resourceful, and
whole.
The coach's responsibility
is to:
1. Facilitate client identifying and clarifying his/her wants,
needs, purposes and goals.
2. Encourage client discovering her/her blind spots through enhanced
awareness.
3. Bring forth client-generated solutions.
4. Keep client responsible and accountable for their own decisions
and results.
Coach Codes of Ethics
As a professional coach, I acknowledge and honor my ethical
obligations to my clients and colleagues and to the public
at large.
I pledge
to comply with ACT Coach Standards of Ethical Conduct, to treat people
with dignity as free and equal human beings.
If I breach this Coach Codes of Ethics or any
ACT Standards of Ethical Conduct, I agree that the ACT in its sole discretion
may hold me accountable for so doing.
I further agree that ACT's holding
me accountable for my breach may include loss of my ACT certifications
or designations registration.
ACT Coach Standards of Ethical Conduct
I will coach and conduct myself in a professional manner.
I will not do anything that hinders or harms the public's understanding
of coaching as a profession.
I will not overstate my qualifications, expertise or experience.
I will, before actual coaching service begins,
ensure
total
understanding of every details of the coaching agreement between us.
I will not claim or imply results that I cannot guarantee.
I will keep my client's information confidential, except
being authorized by my client, or as required by
law.
I will keep all information obtained from my clients or through
the discussion with my client confidential, except
being authorized by my client, or as required
by law.
I will obtain permission from my clients before releasing their
names as references.
I will be alert my client when he/she is no longer benefiting
from my service.
I will avoid any conflict of interests between me and
my
client.
I will inform my client of all compensation from
other parties that I may receive through any referral to and from my
client.
I will honor every term of the coaching agreements and all other
agreements I make
with
my
clients.
I will not do anything to my client that is illegal or beyond my
competence/qualification.
I will not give my client advices that I know
to be misleading or beyond my competence.
I will respect
copyrights, trademarks and intellectual property rights.
I will coach in a manner compatible with the ACT's Philosophy of Coaching.
I will, whenever asked by my client about my ethical
standards, inform he/her of the Coach Codes of Ethics and the
ACT Codes of Ethics and ACT Coach Standards of Ethical Conduct.

training that honors the participants being creative, resourceful, and
whole.
The trainer's responsibility
is to:
1. Facilitate participants learning and understanding.
2. Encourage participants' self-learning.
3. Keep participants under a safe, but challenging environment for maximum learning.
4. Keep participants responsible and accountable for their own decisions
and results.
Trainer Codes of Ethics
As a professional trainer, I acknowledge and honor my ethical
obligations to my participants, clients and colleagues and to the public
at large.
I pledge
to comply with ACT Trainer Standards of Ethical Conduct, to treat people
with dignity as free and equal human beings.
If I breach this Trainer Codes of Ethics or any
ACT Standards of Ethical Conduct, I agree that the ACT in its sole discretion

effective.
2. Balance between participation and result during the process.
3. Use processes, methods, and tools responsibly to help participants
achieving their goals.
4. Bring knowledge, information & expertise of interaction process to the
participants.
5. Keep participants responsible and accountable for their own decisions
and results.
